O’Connor Design is led by Directors, Ciara O’Connor and David Moran. Both Chartered Engineers, they ensure that the business is driven forward with the same methodology that they have adopted throughout their careers – to bring the project to life and to make sure the journey there is every bit as fulfilling as it should be.

Ciara O’Connor BE CEng MIEI

Ciara graduated in 1999 from UCG with an Honours Degree in Civil Engineering and spent 8 years at two of Ireland’s largest engineering companies before setting out to achieve her own goals. She obtained Chartered Engineer status in 2005 shortly after setting up O’Connor Design with David. Ciara specialises in concrete and tower design and has over 10 years experience designing structures for all sectors of the industry.

David Moran BA BAI CEng MIEI

David is a 1997 graduate of Trinity College Dublin with Honours Degrees in both Civil Engineering and Maths. David obtained Chartered Engineer status in 2002 and has worked in both the Construction and Telecoms sectors prior to setting up O’Connor Design with Ciara in 2005. David has over 12 years experience in designing and leading projects and is Managing Director of O’Connor Design.

Colin Short - Consultant

Colin founded his company, Colin Short Associates, in 1986 and in that time has worked with almost 500 clients, many of whom are repeat clients, and over 1400 projects. He is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of The Institute of Engineers of Ireland and Past President of TRADA and the Republic of Ireland branch of the IStructE. Colin has over 40 years experience in civil and structural engineering and project management and acts as consultant to O’Connor Design.

Since our inception in 2005, O’Connor Design has carried out several projects on behalf of Colin Short Associates and we are proud that we are able to call on such a distinguished engineer in a consulting role to our company.
